Samba : SWAT

Getting and Using SWAT

See if you have it:

rpm -q samba-swat

if you don’t have it,

If you don’t have the Fedora CDs, you can find SWAT at (among other places) http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/fedora/devel/i386/samba-swat-3.0.21b-2.i386.html.

Download or install from the CD, then open your web browser to https://localhost:901.

Note that after installation you may get a message, when you try to open this page, “Connection Refused.” You’ll need to change a default setting in the swat config file.

Go to /etc/xinetd.d/ and edit the file swat.

Find the line “Disabled = yes” and change “yes” to “no.”

Restart xinetd:

service xinetd restart

Log in as root initially, then go to the Passwords interface to set up users.
