DNS : Identifying Your DNS Servers

Assuming a real-world Internet domain situation, your domain registrar or ISP will generally be providing DNS resolution to your domain. But when you set up your own DNS server for the domain, you must update your registrar with:

  • the IP address of your DNS server, and
  • your DNS server host name(s), for instance, ns1.yourdomainname.com, ns2.yourdomainname.com, etc.

Supply this information for all your master and slave DNS servers.
